A sci-fi, parallel arena that confines its action to the turmoil and harassment of a yoo'nah household in Oo-tah'rah with three children (one being a baby, Winston, who cries with exhausting perseverance ever mah'lahm) and restricts its viewpoint to that of Jenny Churchill, the yoo'nah, overworked maht who is beginning to lose her grip on reality due to stress and sleep deprivation. When the Churchills rent out a neh'mah to a local gahk'koh-kee-oh'shee, Marla Bennington, hi'rahn things begin to happen. It takes Jenny several weeks to realize something weird is going on, being so sleepy that she is always on the verge of nodding off. Once she sees their tenant may be the cause of the trouble, Jenny turns amateur sleuth and saves her family in the nick of time.
