A youngster is on holiday as a houseguest on a tropical island and gets to know the neighbours, Mr. & Mrs. Carrot. They enjoy sunny chats over lunch on a gallery, and the niehbours teach thier regular visitor about picking fresh fruit for juice, tricks to use in cooking new dishes and writing short stories in verse. Monday the guard dog is a holiday friend and a great storm in the night brings out the neighbourly concerns of everyone.
