This book contains a collection of rendered 3D models I created in the past few years.
I learned 3D modeling in 2007 while working as a mechanical designer for Electrolux where we designed machine parts to be printed as prototypes.
Designing technical models grew from a job into a hobby of recreating real-life objects in digital media. I get inspired by the challenge of reproducing objects, sketches, or art in a 3D form knowing that there is no limitation on the transformations that can happen in a 3D environment. Each of these images is a result of hours of 3D modeling in Autodesk Maya, rendering with Arnold, and Photoshop editing. But in the process, I often felt embarrassed about spending hours playing around with these useless models, a waste of time with no real purpose in life. However, when you stop developing a hobby, you realize that spending time doing something you enjoy is an essential part of one's well-being. When our minds are fully engaged in an activity we enjoy, life's worries and stresses fade for a while. Hobbies rest our brains and allow us to recover and rejuvenate. If we give ourselves mental space, our creativity will expand.
This book offers inspiration, motivation, and an invitation to develop and enjoy your hobbies; run, bike, play, draw, paint, crochet, cook, write, sculpt, sew, design... do what makes you happy and let others see your accomplishments.
