Regression: The Beginning is the start of a series of short novels. A virus of unknown origin kills the majority of the population, while most of the survivors turn into monstrous beast resembling prehistoric man. Henry Lawson, the stories main character, was a CDC scientist before the outbreak occurred. After trying to fix the problem from his professional lab with no luck, he is forced to leave his sanctuary in search of other survivors.
