This book is set in the middle to late 1800's. Many of these events are true. Russell is the main character who at fourteen (14) years of age wanted to fight in the War Between The States. Many tragic and sometimes funny stories are told of the events that happened during the war. This book is about survival, poverty, happiness, and extreme grief.
