The title of this book was chosen because my dad was an accomplished Irish style jig dancer coupled with a tap dancing style, most of which he learned from black cotton pickers who worked for his dad on his cotton farm near Plano, TX. Dad was once offered a job doing his Shining My Dancing Shoes act traveling on the road for a Vaudeville troupe but he turned it down because he was newly married and had a three month old baby daughter, Willa Lee. That was in 1923 when $30 a month amounted to something.
