Crighton Immanuel is a middle school athlete who leads a mediocre life in terms of family and academics. When he is diagnosed with leukemia, his life is dramatically altered and he is forced to rethink his priorities. When his parents seem emotionally unavailable to him, he turns to friends who have also had to face life issues. Together, they motivate Crighton to fight for his life and then, to fight for a quality of life he never could have imagined for himself.
