, however, represents much more than Willie's devotion to Utah; it is a meditation on his longing to be outside immersed in nature and a rumination on the sense of holiness which Utah's natural beauty conjures in him. Willie is increasingly drawn to the isolated and remote stretches of Utah, places to which he typically travels alone. It is in the solitude of these lesser known and seldom explored locations that he finds his own personal sanctuaries and his soul is filled.
